Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has slammed rumours swirling around him that he would be featuring in a campaign film for the Narendra Modi government.

The actor, who is busy with his upcoming film "Shamitabh" with Tamil superstar Dhanush, tweeted on Thursday:

Recent reports had suggested that the 72-year-old actor, who is brand ambassador for many government and private campaigns to save tigers, eradicate polio and promote cleanliness through the recent "Swachh Bharat" mission, would be seen in a campaign film to promote communal harmony in the country.

Following the reports, the Congress government even started taking potshots at the ruling party, with Congress spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi saying: "It's like 'kauwa chala hans ki chaal' (crow imitating the swan's movement). All this camouflaging, all this gimmickry and advertising will not substitute what the government has done on issues like conversion."
