"America's Got Talent" Season 11 semifinals week 1 results will be announced tonight. Only five of the 11 acts that performed live on Tuesday will advance to the finals, which means six of them will be sent home. American public will decide who remains in the competiton and who goes home through their votes.

On Tuesday night, jazz singer, Sal Valentinetti kicked off the show with the rendition of Frank Sinatra's "That's Life". It was a good performance but it is to be seen if the audience think that's enough to take him to the finals. He was followed by magician Blake Vogt who performed a not-so- interesting "invisible" trick.

Family band, Edgar was the next to take the stage with "Bless the Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. The judges were all praise for them despite some shaky moment in patches. Then young standup comedian Lori Mae Hernandez hit the stage, but it wasn't as hilarious as expected at this stage of the competition. It could be the end of the road for her.

School choir, Musicality rendered Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" but it wasn't impressive. However, Deadly Games' husband and wife duo gave a breath-taking performance with so much precision and control. Comedic mime, Tape Face tried to be cool with a balloon act without talking (as expected) but it wasn't cool this time around.

However, close-up magician Jon Dorenbos lid up the hall with his magical game performance. Then Grace VanderWaal beautifully sang her original song, "Light The Sky." It was followed by dance troupe Malevo that gave a startling performance, and the opera singer Laura Bretan wooed both the judges and audience with her rendition of "Pie Jesu".

Only five of the above acts will enter the finals. Going by Tuesday's live performance, it looks like Grace VanderWaal, Laura Bretan, and Deadly Games will sail through to the next round without much trouble, while other acts like Jon Dorenbos, Malevo, Sal Valentinetti, Edgar, and Blake Vogt could be in the fray for a spot. It appears like Musicality, Tape Face, and Lori Mae Hernandez will leave the show.

However, anything can happen in this kind of competition where the audience decide the fate of the contestants with their votes. Watch "America's Got Talent" Season 11 week 1 results live on NBC at 9pm ET on Wednesday, Aug. 31 . The episode will also be live streamed on NBC official website.
