"The Americans" is just a week away from its Season 4 premiere. The year-long wait for fans finally comes to an end as the critically-acclaimed FX's spy series is all set to be released on March 16, 2016. And if the latest trailer is anything to go by, then it looks like things are going to get really complicated for Elizabeth and Philip Jennings, with their own daughter plotting against them.

The Season 3 ended on a cliffhanger and left fans with many ambiguous thoughts and questions. At the end of Season 3, we saw Philip admitting to Elizabeth that he was contemplating on quitting the spy business. But the biggest turning point came when Jennings' teenage daughter Paige discovered that her parents are Russian spies and she eventually ended up revealing this to Pastor Tim.

Now, things will pick from where they left in Season 3. The new trailer for Season 4 has given some clarity as to how things will shape up and what the future holds for the Jennings. And it doesn't look like it will be a smooth ride for the couple, who are on the brink of getting exposed.

The trailer shows that all roads for Elizabeth and Philip will lead to getting captured. The video further teases that it's almost over for the couple and that Paige along with Pastor Tim will be plotting against her parents.

Apart from dealing with the repercussions of Paige's discovery, the episode will also show Jennings face another major danger, after they get a new bio-weapon assignment.

So, will Elizabeth and Philip's life of anonymity finally come to an end in Season 4? We will have to wait and watch.

The plot synopsis for Episode 1 "Glanders" (via TV.com) reads: "In the fourth season premiere, Philip and Elizabeth face the fallout from their previous actions and get a new bioweapons assignment. Elsewhere: Pastor Tim grapples with the revelation that Philip and Elizabeth are Russian spies."

"The American" Season 4 will premiere with Episode 1, "Glanders," on March 16, 2016 on FX at 10 p.m.
