Alpha leaked: Alia Bhatt, Sharvari flaunt curves in bralette, hot pants ; fans say 'skin show unnecessary for spy universe'

Alpha Day is finally here. The film, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, hit theatres on Friday, July 3, after multiple delays. Several clips and videos from the film have surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.

'Spy Thriller Or Swimsuit Calendar...' Netizens Call Out Alpha Makers Over Alia Bhatt & Sharvari's bold scenes on the beach 

One of the clips that has gone viral features Alia and Sharvari in a beach sequence, where both are seen wearing bralettes and shorts with jackets. Another viral clip shows Hrithik Roshan's cameo as Major Kabir, reprising his iconic character from War and extending his journey in the YRF Spy Universe.

In one of the scenes, Sharvari and Alia are seen in swimwear during a beach sequence. Sharvari is seen flaunting her toned physique in hot pants and a bralette as she walks out of the water, while Alia appears beside her in an all-black swimsuit. Sharvari is later seen tying a cover-up around her waist, while Alia puts on a jacket shortly after emerging from the water. The camera framing in the scene appears to linger more on Sharvari, which has also become a talking point among viewers online.

Hrithik reprises his popular role as Major Kabir, a character first introduced in War. His appearance further connects Alpha with the expanding YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster films such as Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3 and War 2.

The scenes have sparked mixed reactions online. While some netizens slammed the makers for adding what they called unnecessary visuals in a spy-based film, others defended the filmmakers, saying such sequences are part of modern cinematic styling.

This is not the first time the YRF Spy Universe has faced criticism over the styling of its female spies. In War 2, Kiara Advani's bikini sequence drew mixed reactions on social media, with some viewers questioning the portrayal of a spy in such a glamorous avatar. Earlier, Pathaan sparked a major controversy over Deepika Padukone's orange bikini in the song Besharam Rang. The film faced boycott calls and political backlash over the costume's colour.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is the seventh instalment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in the lead roles, alongside Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
