
India celebrates its 77th Republic Day today, January 26. Republic Day is observed annually to commemorate the formal adoption and enforcement of the Constitution of India in 1950, marking the country's transition to a sovereign democratic republic. The day upholds the principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.
The Republic Day celebrations were held in Delhi, featuring a grand display of India's cultural diversity, economic progress, and defence strength. The parade included missiles, aircraft, and weapon systems used during Operation Sindoor. This year's theme was 150 Years of Vande Mataram.
PM Modi, President Droupadi Murmu, and chief guests from Europe attended the event.
As the nation came together to celebrate the 77th Republic Day, voices from the world of cinema and entertainment joined in the chorus of patriotism. Several celebrities took to their social media handles to extend heartfelt wishes, sharing messages of gratitude and pride.
Shah Rukh Khan also took to Instagram stories to convey his wishes.
He wrote, "Proud to be Indian—our country teaches us there is strength and unity in diversity. Happy Republic Day to all of us. Jai Hind and love to all...."

Mom Alia Bhatt flaunts a handmade Indian flag by Raha this Republic Day
Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt wished everyone on Republic Day by sharing a picture of an Indian flag made by her daughter, Raha Kapoor.

Alia took to Instagram Stories and posted a photo of the handmade tricolour created by Raha. The proud mommy flaunted it, captioning the post: "Happy Republic Day," followed by the Indian flag and folded hands emojis.
Vicky Kaushal shared a photo on Instagram of their balcony, where they had placed their national tricolour as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative.


Virat Kohli, who is in London, also took to Instagram and shared a reel extending his wishes on India's Republic Day.
Priyanka Chopra shared a black-and-white collage photo wishing everyone a Happy Republic Day.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi 2 actor Smriti Irani uploaded the video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visiting National War Memorial, paying his tribute to the martyrs of the nation. Wishing a Happy Republic Day to her fans, Smriti captioned her post, "Grateful nation salutes the bravery of brave fighters!"
Mrunal Thakur took to Instagram to upload a reel on Instagram that showed a girl running in the open field. The reel said in the caption, "Her kind of freedom." She reacted with a red heart while sharing the reel on her story.
