Alcatel accidently reveals Idol 4 and 4S features ahead of launch at MWC 2016

Consumer electronics major Alcatel inadvertently revealed the features of its unannounced smartphones Idol 4 and 4S series, which were rumoured to be unveiled at the upcoming MWC (Mobile World Congress) 2015, Barcelona later this month.

Alcatel Idol 4 and 4S were displayed on the company's official device support page. Once word got out in the media, the company immediately pulled down the webpage.

But by then, many blogs had taken the screen-shot of the pages. As per the listing (courtesy, Android Police), Alcatel Idol 4S is a top-end variant among the two devices.

Idol 4S sports 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display and runs on the latest Android Marshmallow OS powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor backed by sumptuous 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt memory and 3000mAh battery. It also features 16MP camera with dual-tone LED flash on the rear-side and 8MP snapper on the front.

On the other hand, Idol 4 sports a smaller 5.2-inch full HD display and comes with Snapdragon 617 Octa-core CPU, 2GB/3GB RAM, 16GB storage and a 2600mAh battery. It houses 13MP primary camera on the back and a 8MP shooter on the front.

With device specifications details already in the public domain, the company will now just have to announce the price and release details of Idol 4S and 4 at MWC 2016.

Besides Alcatel, Samsung is slated to announce its flagship smartphone Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge series on 21 February and later, they will be showcased at MWC 2016 (22-25 February), Barcelona.
