Last month, we saw music releases in a variety of genres by artists such as Zayn Malik, Iggy Pop, Three Doors Down and Killswitch Engage. However, this month's list of new album releases seems like a rock revival of sorts with a hint of ambient electronica.

With well known bands, such as Explosions In The Sky, Mogwai, Cheap Trick, Weezer and The Last Shadow Puppets, already having released their much awaited records last week, let's take a look at what to expect from the rest of the month.

"Gore" by Deftones

American alternative metal band Deftones are gearing up to release their eighth studio album "Gore," a record which comes three years after the death of their original bassist, Chi Cheng. The band started writing new material for the album in 2014 and had originally scheduled it for a September 2015 release before postponing it.

"Distortland" by The Dandy Warhols

Remember "We Used To Be Friends," the opening track of cult TV show Veronica Mars? Well, The Dandy Warhols, the composers of the track, are coming up with their 10th studio album this month. The record will see them experimenting with a power-pop inspired alternative rock sound.

"Book of Shadows" by Zakk Wylde

Ex-guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne and founding member of metal band Black Label Society Zakk Wylde will be releasing his second solo album, "Book of Shadows II." The record will act as a follow-up to his debut solo album, "Book of Shadows," that released in 1996.

"Junk" by M83

French band M83's long awaited seventh studio album is their first one in four years since 2011's "Hurry Up We're Dreaming." The band has already released two singles, "Solitude" and "Do It, Try It", from it and going by the way they sound, "Junk" will be very different from any of their previous records.

"Santana IV" by Santana

"Santana IV" is the 23rd studio album by Latin rock band Santana, a band which is spearheaded by guitar legend Carlos Santana. A special fact about this album is that it will feature the classic 1970s line-up of the band after more than four decades.

"PersonA" by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

The fourth studio album by American indie rock/folk rock band Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros has been two years in the making. After their neo-psychedelia-style eponymous third record, it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Pioneer of ambient music, veteran music producer Brian Eno's upcoming studio album, "The Ship," is going to be an out-and-out ambient production. The album is inspired by Eno's fascination of the World War I and the story of Titanic (ship).

One of the most popular indie bands of this age, Rogue Wave gained their fame due to the fact that many of their songs were featured in TV shows such as "Friday Night Lights," "The O.C" and "The Vampire Diaries." "Delusions Of Grand Fur" is their sixth studio album.
