Eros International has joined hands with producer Vashu Bhagnani to remake two classics from the 1990s. "Hero No. 1" and "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" are the films they are hoping to rehash and present it with a modern touch.

"Work on the script has already begun. The makers are considering Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra for 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.' Ranbir Kapoor or Ranveer Singh are on their wish-list for 'Hero No 1,'" a source told Mumbai Mirror adding that the team will remake a few other films, but for now the focus is on the above mentioned films.

Akshay and Sidharth have worked together before in "Brothers," but their pairing didn't quite make a mark. Hopefully, with "Bade Miya Chote Miyan" remake, they can turn things around.

Friendships have always worked in Bollywood. Be it Amar-Prem and their many quests for a rich and beautiful life partner in "Andaz Apna Apna" or Jay and Veeru's misadventures from "Sholay," the Indian audience seem to have a liking for twisted yet fun and free-spirited lead men. Here's hoping Akshay and Sidharth bring something similar to the table, if and when they decide to do the film.

Directed by David Dhawan, "Bade Miyan Chote Miyan" is about a high-strung cop Arjun Singh (Amitabh Bachchan) and his partner Pyaare Mohan (Govinda) and their dopplegangers. Raveena Tandon and Ramya Krishna played their onscreen love interests. The action-comedy released on Oct. 16, 1998, and earned some good profits for its production house.
