It was a star-studded reception ceremony for newlyweds Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and filmmaker Sharan Sharma on Sunday, July 12, in Mumbai. The evening brought together close family members, friends and several prominent faces from the Hindi film industry.

From Neena Gupta, Boney Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol to several other celebrities, the reception was a glamorous affair.

Akansha Ranjan Kapoor looked stunning in a bold, shimmery, plunging-neckline sleeveless sculptural Gaurav Gupta couture gown. She paired the structured halter-neck corset blouse with a mermaid-style skirt.

Sharan Sharma complemented his bride in a timeless black bandhgala, keeping his look classic and understated.

Bride's sister Anushka Ranjan and actor Aditya Seal made a stunning appearance. Anushka looked elegant in a red saree, while Aditya made a couture-like appearance in a black-and-white bandhgala.

Netizens were reminded of Anushka Sharma's wedding reception as Anushka Ranjan opted for a similar saree, hairdo and sindoor.

Many even said that Anushka Ranjan looked better than the bride.

Neena Gupta wore a sleek black saree with a sleeveless blouse and graced the red carpet with her husband, Vivek Mehra.

It was Sonakshi Sinha who turned heads as she stepped out in a stunning black ensemble by Ridhi Bansal and Mohit Rai (ITRH). The outfit featured a corset-style top paired with a shimmering pleated skirt. She layered the look with a jacket and a statement necklace.

Bestie Alia Bhatt had only one intention: to truly slay as a bridesmaid, and she stole the spotlight in an alluring bejewelled ensemble.

Soni Razdan's daughter, Shaheen Bhatt, attended the bash hand -in- hand with her fiancé, Ishaan Mehra.

Mahima Chaudhry looked in a striped pattern saree.  Several inside videos from the wedding festivities have gone viral. One clip shows Alia helping her bestie wear her kaleeras during the chooda ceremony,
