The pre-release business of Ajith-starrer "Yennai Arindhaal" is progressing well. The film's Chennai rights have been acquired by MK Enterprises for a whopping sum, according to latest reports.

"#YennaiArindhaal Trade update - 1st area sold in Tamil Nadu! #MKEnterprises has brought Chennai City rights from producer #AMRatnam," tweeted entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai.

The overseas distribution rights of "Yennai Arindhaal" have been bagged by Ayngaran International, while ATMUS Entertainment has grabbed the US rights. The full-fledged, pre-release business of the film is expected to commence soon.

"Yennai Arindhaal" is one of the most-awaited Tamil films of 2015. The Ajith starrer was initially slated to hit the screens for Pongal, but the post-production work reportedly delayed the film's release. The film is now gearing up for release on 29 January.

Directed by Gautham Menon, "Yennai Arindhaal" will have Ajith appearing in the role of a cop. The actor will be seen sporting different looks in the action thriller flick. Trisha and Anushka Shetty play the female leads, while Arun Vijay, Vivek, baby Anikha and Thalaivasal Vijay are also part of the film's cast.

The film's music is composed by Harris Jayaraj and its cinematography is handled by Dan Macarthur.

The first look posters, teaser, trailer and the songs have created a huge buzz about the film. It is likely to have a grand release and expected to enjoy a solo run at the box office as there are no big Tamil releases reportedly planned during the month-end. The Telugu version of the film will be releasing simulatenously with the Tamil version.

This is the first time that Ajith has teamed up with director Gautham Menon, which has raised expectations about the film. It will be interesting to see if the action thriller is able to impress the audience and strike gold at the box office.
