The rumours about Ajith teaming up with AR Murugadoss in his next is true. The duo had earlier worked in "Dheena" and is coming together for a thriller movie.

The most interesting part of the story is that AR Murugadoss has roped in two of Bollywood's big actresses, Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha, to play the female lead roles.

"Yes. I'm directing Thala...," AR Murugadoss announced the news on Twitter. The filmmaker further added, "My fav Sonakshi and Deepika r part of da projct." The upcoming film is produced by Aascar Ravichandran.

Giving further information about the project, AR Murugadoss said, "I'm joining hands with Ajith sir after 14 years. It's a long time but it will be worth the wait." On being asked why he took so much time to work with the actor again, he said, "Our first film was a blockbuster and I'm sure people won't accept anything less than the best."

"Moreover, I was always read to direct Ajith sir but he was busy with his other commitments. So, we could not collaborate again," he added. The highlight of his announcement is that he is bringing in two biggies from Bollywood.

"They are not female leads but they have equal roles with the hero. I cannot reveal further about the roles. All I can say is that it is a mega-budget thriller, which will be mainly shot in the US and Dubai," AR Murugadoss said.

It will be the second outing for both Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha in Tamil. While the former entered Kollywood with "Kochadaiiyaan", the latter made her debut in Tamil movie "Lingaa". Both the films starred Rajinikanth.

The news has come as a surprise as AR Murugadoss was holding talks with Rajinikanth for a movie. The director has said that he will take up the superstar's film after completing this film. He says, "Rajini sir will be starting his next project soon and it will keep him busy for the next 15 months. During that time, I will complete Ajith's movie and Bollywood film "Akira".
