Having fans at home is a common thing for a star, but having followers in a different territory is quite an achievement. Tamil actor Ajith is one such star, who has crossed all such barriers to become the most popular celebrity in Karnataka.
A report published in Bangalore Mirror says that Ajith is the most searched celebrity in the last three months in Karnataka. What has surprised many is the fact that he has managed to beat big names from other South Indian film industries.
Ajith has beaten Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Pawan Kalyan, Rajinikanth, Mahesh Babu, Kiccha Sudeep, Dhanush, Vikram and Junior NTR among others. Strangely Vijay and Kamal Haasan do not even feature in the list of top 10 most searched celebs in the last three months.
The list has been dominated by Tamil and Telugu stars with "Baahubali" actor Prabhas taking the second spot followed by Allu Arjun in the third position. Rajinikanth is in the fourth place and his son-in-law Dhanush is in the fifth position.
Mahesh Babu, Vikram, Sudeep, Pawan Kalyan and Junior NTR are in the next five positions respectively.
Coming back to Ajith, he has a good fan following in Karnataka. His last release was "Yennai Arindhaal" in February. Even though he has not had any release in the last couple of months or any major developments in his career, the Tamil actor has topped Google search list in Karnataka.
This clearly indicates the popularity of Ajith in Karnataka. It is also believed that the actor is the second best to Rajinikanth in terms of fan following in the state.
Meanwhile, Ajith is busy with his forthcoming Tamil movie, which is presently titled "Thala 56". The movie directed by Siruthai Siva has Shruti Haasan and Lakshmi Menon in the key roles. This film will be released this Diwali.
