Aishwarya Rai fat-shamed at airport; Aaradhya shields mom, Abhishek greets paps [Watch]

The New Year's vacation is over, and celebs are back in the bay, with some having already resumed work. In the wee hours of Monday, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and their daughter Aaradhya were snapped as they exited the Mumbai airport.

Abhishek and Aishwarya twinned in similar black outfits as they returned to the city. The couple had rung in the New Year far away from home, and several photos and videos surfaced on social media recently.

While they kept the location under wraps, fans spotted them hanging out in New York a few days ago.

In the wee hours of Monday, the trio was clicked exiting the Mumbai airport. They didn't stop to pose for the paparazzi but were all smiles as they made their way to their car. In fact, Abhishek appeared to be in a cheerful mood as he greeted fans twice with a namaste. Several pictures and videos of the family returning from their vacation have since been shared on social media.

However, netizens noticed that Aishwarya's oversized hoodie was meant to hide her weight gain, while many questioned Aaradhya's height and felt she was too tall for a 14-year-old. In fact, another reel showed Aaradhya shielding her mother from the paparazzi. In the clip, Aaradhya was seen telling the photographers to be careful as they rushed towards Aishwarya.

Earlier, several reports were suggesting that the actor couple is going through a challenging time and would possibly be heading for divorce.

However, during an interview with Peeping Moon, Abhishek had dismissed the rumours and said, "First they were curious when will we get married, now they're discussing how we will get divorced. My wife knows my truth, I know her truth. We go back to a happy, healthy family and that's all that matters. That's one of the benefits of growing up in the film industry and having a wife who is from the film industry. In all humility, and respect, the media tends to get it wrong most times."

He added, "Media is the conscience of the nation. In today's fast pace, we have to be the one to break the news first, I understand the pressure, but what do you stand for? At the end of the day, you're also talking about a human being. Someone's father, husband, there has to be a certain amount of responsibility. If you're going to talk about my family, you're going to have to deal with it because that's off limits. It may be a strong word and I don't mean it arrogantly, I will not tolerate any rubbish about my family. That's a full stop."

Abhishek Bachchan will be seen in Shah Rukh Khan's King, in 2026. While Aishwarya Rai hasn't announced her next project, reports suggest she will reunite with Mani Ratnam for an untitled film.
