Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's film with director Maniratnam will be a direct Telugu film, according to the latest reports.

For the last few months, various reports have claimed that former Miss World Aishwarya Rai will be making her comeback in Maniratnam's film. There were also speculations that the film will have Telugu actors Mahesh Babu and Nagarjuna playing the lead roles.

Now, the buzz is that Aishwarya Rai and Nagarjuna have approved the script, while Mahesh Babu is yet to sign on the dotted line. The Telugu superstar is said to have suggested a few changes to Maniratnam, which the director is currently working on. Shruti Haasan is reportedly one of the contenders to play the second female lead in the Maniratnam directorial. She is expected to be paired opposite Mahesh Babu. 

The film's team is said to be hunting for the other cast and crew members. As of now, music composer AR Rahman, cinematographer Ravi Varman and editor Sreekar Prasad are reportedly going to work in the project.

The film's pre-production work is going on in full swing. It is expected to go on floors in the second half of this year. The shooting for the film is expected to commence in June or July in Hyderabad, according to Behindwoods..

It is not yet known as to on what genre the film will be made. Buzz is that the Aishwarya Rai-Nagarjuna-Mahesh Babu starrer will be an action thriller flick. It will reportedly be made in Telugu and will be dubbed in Tamil and Hindi.

Vijayanthi Movies (one of the popular production houses in south India) will be producing the film in association with Madras Talkies banner, according to Andhraboxoffice website.

However, an official confirmation on the details about the film is yet to be made.
