Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have together delivered some really big hits, and it's about time they returned to the big screen reunited. If reports are to be believed, producer Firoz Nadiadwala is planning on roping in Kumar and Kaif for "Welcome 3."

According to a Catch News report, the third instalment of movie "Welcome" will feature characters from the first one and will be a comedy of errors. Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal will be reprising their roles, but Anees Bazmee won't be on the director's chair for this one. The hunt for a new filmmaker is on and the script is being worked upon.

Interestingly, Kumar and Kaif have always expressed interest in working with each other, but the leading lady, on most occasions, fell short of time. Roughly two years ago, she was apparently approached for a film, but she rejected the role stating date issues. "Namaste England" and "Singh is Bliing" were two projects that were offered to her.

But, not being able to work together hasn't lessened the fondness she harbours for her co-star. "I think Akshay and I make the best pair ever! It may be politically incorrect to say this, but it's a fact! (Laughs) We have given some big hits together. I would love to do another great film with him," she told the DNA last year.

Kumar and Kaif have together done a total of six films -- "Humko Deewana Kar Gaye" (2006), "Namastey London" (2007), "Welcome" (2007), "Singh is Kinng" (2008), "De Dana Dan" (2009), and "Tees Maar Khan" (2010).

In other news, Kumar is currently busy with debutant director Tinu Suresh Desai's "Rustom," which requires him to look a certain way. The first picture from the sets has gone viral and the actor is looking completely in character. Set in the 1950s, the film will see him wear a lot of charcoal ties, flared pants and cardigans.

Meanwhile, Kaif will be shooting for Anurag Basu's "Jagga Jasoos" alongside Ranbir Kapoor for the next couple of months. The release date has yet again been pushed to July.
