Sujoy Ghosh's latest short film "Ahalya" has become a hit and actress Radhika Apte also received many accolades for her performance and portrayal of the character. Radhika Apte was seen as a young wife of a comparatively old artist and the actress describes her character as a seductress, who is also innocent.

"It was a unique character of a seductress and yet so simple. There was nothing flashy about it. It was very simple and subtle. The experimentation with the look is also like that, the way she walks and sits. I am happy it has paid off," PTI quoted Radhika Apte as saying.

The 14-minute short film, "Ahalya", is based on the popular mythological story of Gautama Maharishi's wife. It also features veteran actor Soumitra Chatterjee. Radhika Apte further reveals two of the main reasons behind her being a part of the movie. "The two foremost reasons for me to do Ahalya were Sujoy, who is a fantastic story-teller and a great filmmaker, and Soumitra da, with whom I had worked previously on a Bengali film. I couldn't believe I was getting to work with him again. I am a big fan of his work," added Radhika.

The actress also praised director Sujoy Ghosh for his ability to make the actors' work effortless and guide them into the character with ease.

"Ahalya" was released online on Tuesday and it received positive response from all ends. Radhika Apte will next be seen in the movie, "Manjhi-The Mountain Man", which features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role.
