Fans were eagerly waiting for the announcement of Deepika Padukone's next Bollywood project after "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," but the actress has reportedly signed a South Indian film. The recent buzz is that instead of a Hindi film, Deepika might appear in her first Telugu movie opposite Chiranjeevi.

The Telugu industry superstar, Chiranjeevi, is set to star in his 150th film "Kathilantodu," a Telugu remake of Vijay-starrer Tamil blockbuster "Kaththi," and it will star Deepika as the leading actress, The News Minute reported. The movie will go on the floors next week and Chiranjeevi will join the team by the end of this month.

The Telugu remake will be helmed by VV Vinayak and will be produced by Ram Charan. However, even though Deepika has reportedly shown interest in the film, she has not yet signed the dotted lines. It will be interesting to see the Bollywood's leading lady in a South Indian film. Previously, she made her acting debut in a Kannada movie in 2016 release "Aishwarya" and has lent her voice in the Tamil animated flick, "Kochadaiiyaan."

On the other hand, she will appear in a dance number in Dinesh Vijan's "Raabta," starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon. The actress has already shot the song in Budapest and has now returned to India. It was recently reported that the diva will go for a romantic vacation with rumoured boyfriend Ranveer Singh.

It is said Ranveer and Deepika are going to be together after a long time, and thus they will be going on a short trip as the duo has to resume work soon. However, the romantic destination is still a secret. Also, Deepika is expected to make her appearance at IIFA 2016 in Madrid, Spain, and it will be held from June 23 to June 26 . Due to her busy schedule with the Hollywood film, the actress has hardly attended any Bollywood award shows recently.
