Aditya Roy Kapur will romance 'alleged' girlfriend Shraddha Kapoor in the Hindi remake of Tamil superhit "O Kadhal Kanmani", confirms Karan Johar.

Aditya and Shraddha will reprise the role of Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the Hindi remake of superhit Tamil film, which is also known as "OK Kanmani". Producer-director Karan took to Twitter to announce the lead cast and the director of the Hindi remake.

Mani Ratnam directed and produced the Tamil romantic film, while "Saathiya" director Shaad Ali will helm the Hindi remake.

"Honored to collaborate with Mani Ratnam on the recreation of his labour of love....directed by Shaad Ali....@DharmaMovies..cast coming up! Mani Ratnam...Gulzarsaab...AR Rahman...Shaad and us present ADITYA ROY KAPUR and SHRADDHA KAPOOR in the official recreation of #okkanmani," Karan tweeted.

With the Hindi remake of "OK Kanmani", the award winning jodi of Shaad Ali, Gulzar and A. R. Rahman will make a comeback. The trio last worked together in 2002 in a romantic film "Saathiya" starring Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji. Directed by Shaad, the dialogues and lyrics will be written by Gulzar, while Rahman will compose the background score.

Shraddha and Aditya were last seen in blockbuster film "Aashiqui 2" released in 2013. The film became a major hit at the box office and also garnered positive reviews from critics. Aditya and Shraddha, who are rumoured to be dating, will come back on silver screen after a gap of three years with the remake of "OK Kanmani".
