It seems that Kareena Kapoor Khan's rough luck with respect to her films is not quite over.

Much like Karan Johar's "Shuddhi," the beautiful actress might soon have to opt out of Dev Benegal's "Bombay Samurai," where she was slated to pair opposite Farhan Akhtar.

Report has it that Benegal's film has lost out one of its prominent producers, Excel Entertainment, owing to delay in rolling out the project.

The acclaimed director reportedly was unable to round off the film's pre-production work leading to a delay in the 30 March shooting date, that resulted in Excel's exit, reported Mumbai Mirror.

However, the delay has not just cost the producer, but also its male lead, Akhtar, whose dates are already blocked with several other projects.

The news was confirmed by Ritesh Sidhwani, who heads the Excel company with partner Akhtar.

"Yes, we are no longer producing Dev's film. We wanted to start it last month, but he wasn't ready. Now, Farhan too is busy with three back-to back films - Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do", Bejoy Nambiar's next being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and "Rock On 2" - so where is the time?" Sidhwani told the tabloid.

Meanwhile, Khan who was quite eager to team up with Benegal and Akhtar in "Bombay Samurai" might have her hopes dashed as the project's delay could possibly affect her dates as well.

A similar situation was witnessed earlier this year when Khan opted out of Karan Johar's ambitious project "Shuddhi" after the original male lead Hrithik Roshan exited the scene making the film's fate uncertain. The actress was then replaced by Deepika Padukone.

Khan, however, still has Rohit Shetty's "Singham 2" at hand and will also be seen in an item song in Akshay Kumar starring "Gabbar."
