The year 2013 seems to have several Tamil re-releases in store. Actor Ajith's 2011-blockbuster"Mankatha" (Gambling) had a re-release just for a day in Tuticorin to celebrate music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja's birthday. The one-day show received massive response from Ajith fans.

Recently, it was announced that Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth blockbuster musical, "Ninaithale Inikkum" (1979), will re-release in digital format. The trailer of "Ninaithale Inikkum" was launched at a gala event in Chennai. The film's director Balachander, Kamal Haasan, music director MS Vishwanathan attended the occasion.

Now, reports have emerged that another one of Kamal's film is likely to be re-released. The makers of "Anbe Sivam" are planning to re-release the film as they believe that it will get good response even now.

"Over the years, the film has developed quite a following and we are sure it will get a good reception now. We are planning a state-of-the-art digital conversion of the audio and video, which will start in a month's time," V Vishwanathan, one of the film's producers, told The Times of India.

"Anbe Sivam" is a Tamil drama flick that revolves around two protagonists who travel all the way from Bhubaneswar to Chennai. The film is reportedly based on Kamal's personal views about communism and atheism.

Madhavan, Kiran and Nassar appear in pivotal roles in the flick, directed by Sundar C. "Anbe Sivam", which was released in 2003, opened to positive response and performed well at the box office. In the past, several of Shivaji and MGR films have been re-released. Rajinikanth's cult film "Baasha" was released in Chennai in 2011 and fetched good collections for a whole week.

Now, it is Kamal's turn to have his popular flicks in theatres again. It will be a big treat for Kamal's fans as two of his films are getting re-released. Moreover, his upcoming film "Vishwaroopam 2" is all set to hit the screens in November.

Speculations are rife that the spy thriller, a sequel to "Vishwaroopam", might release on 22 November, three weeks after big Diwali releases including Ajith's "Arrambam" and Karthi's "All in All Azhaguraja." However, Kamal is yet to make an official announcement on the same.
