Four gunmen attacked a building of National Radio Television, Afghanistan state broadcaster, in the eastern city of Jalalabad on Wednesday. Reports state that at least two civilains have been killed in the gunfire till now, and more than 14 are wounded. The attack was claimed by the Islamic State (ISIS) group.

The provincial governor's spokesperson Attaullah Khogyani told the media that the men engaged in a gun battle with the security forces insider the building, and that at least two of them are dead.

"Four attackers entered the RTA (Radio Television Afghanistan) building this morning. Two blew themselves up," Khogyani told AFP.

"At least two civilians have been killed and 14 others wounded so far," Kohgyani said, with a health worker telling AFP that many of those brought to hospital suffered gunshot wounds and some are in serious condition.

Reports also state that some of the media professionals of National Radio Television are also trapped in the building where firing is still going on.

A massive explosion and heavy gunfire was heard from around the building of RTA, Afghanistan's national broadcaster. The building is located very near to the provincial governor's compound.

Jalalabad is the capital of Nangarhar,  the eastern province on the border with Pakistan where Islamic State group (ISIS) fighters have established a stronghold. There is also a strong presence of Taliban in the region.

The United States military had dropped the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast bomb, which the nation said was the largest non-nuclear bomb in its possession, on ISIS positions in Nangarhar, killing dozens of jihadists.
