In spite of being released on the festive season of Dilwai, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay managed to rake in good money over the 1st weekend. However, it is ADHM that stood higher than the Ajay-directed film at the box office.

Multi-starrer Ae Dil Hai Mushkil had collected Rs 13.30 crore nett at the Indian box office on its opening day. Although its collection dropped a bit on Saturday owing to the Diwali celebrations, it still managed to earn an excellent sum of Rs 13.10 crore on the second day.

On the other side, Shivaay's business has been less than ADHM but good enough. The action thriller had collected Rs 10.24 crore nett on its first day, followed by Rs 10.06 crore on the second day. The 2-day total nett collection of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay at the domestic market was Rs 26.40 crore and Rs 20. 30 crore, respectively.

Both the films continued decent performance at the box office on Sunday as well. Although the numbers have dipped down considerably, the two films earned well considering the festive day.

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil made a business of Rs 9.20 crore on Sunday and Shivaay ended the first weekend with a collection of Rs 8.26 crore on its 3rd day.

"#ADHM Fri 13.30 cr, Sat 13.10 cr, Sun 9.20 cr. Total: 35.60 cr. India biz," Taran Adarsh tweeted. "#Shivaay Fri 10.24 cr, Sat 10.06 cr, Sun 8.26 cr. Total: 28.56 cr. India biz," he tweeted.

Both the films would have witnessed much bigger opening at the box office if it was not a festive season. Trade experts have predicted that Shivaay and ADHM will enjoy even better collection in the coming days as there are no big releases scheduled next week. "Diwali pooja and festivities made a dent in the biz of #ADHM and #Shivaay on Sun...Biz should witness an upward trend on Mon and Tue," added Taran.
