Bhuj, Gujarat witnessed the inauguration of a Centre of Excellence for Green Energy at Kachchh University by Adani Skills and Education, the Adani Group's skilling arm, aimed at developing a skilled workforce for India's growing renewable energy sector.
Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat opened the facility, which plans to train upwards of 10,000 students each year through specialised courses on renewable energy and industrial automation.
The launch comes amid rising demand for skilled professionals in clean energy. The Adani Group noted that its green energy projects in Kutch have created over 21,000 direct and indirect jobs in the past two years, highlighting the urgent need for trained experts to support renewable infrastructure development and maintenance.
The Centre will provide training in areas such as Solar PV Technologies, Wind Energy Systems, Hybrid Energy Systems, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Digital and Industrial Automation, along with fostering applied research and entrepreneurship in green energy.
Karan Adani, Director of Adani Group, emphasised the sector's importance in India's future and stated that the centre will equip students for emerging opportunities nationally and globally.
"This global Centre of Excellence will ensure that students are equipped not only for today's jobs, but also for the emerging new opportunities across India and the world," he said.
Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education, pointed out that while the renewable energy industry is expanding swiftly, specialised talent availability has not matched this pace.
"By working with Kachchh University, we can bring industry requirements into the classroom, give students practical exposure to the technologies they will work with and help them move from education to employment," he remarked.
India targets 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, prompting investment growth across renewable energy sectors.

has become a significant hub for this transformation, with Adani Group developing a 30 GW renewable energy park at Khavda, spanning 538 square kilometres.
The centre employs a comprehensive learning approach integrating classroom teaching, simulation training, and hands-on experience.
The curriculum covers solar and wind power technologies, renewable energy integration, battery storage systems, microgrids, SCADA, IoT-based energy solutions, and smart-grid technologies.
