Adam Sandler is the latest addition to the long list of celebrities who have fallen prey to death hoaxes. According to the latest reports, Sandler was 'found dead' in his home around noon on Monday.

The report which appeared on Linkbeef – which looks like a fake news site – gave specific details on the 'death', stating that the "50 First Dates" actor has been battling depression for a long time. The article also included quotes from Sandler's 'utterly heart-broken' wife Jackie.

"This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken," she was quoted as saying.

Meanwhile, a 'police statement' quoted in the article read, "At this time, the Sheriff's Office Coroner Division suspects the death to be a suicide due to asphyxia, but a comprehensive investigation must be completed before a final determination is made".

Believing the news to be true, many heartbroken Sandler fans posted condolence messages on social media.
