After a two-decade-long sabbatical from the film industry, yesteryear actress Lissy is set to play the role of a Maoist in her upcoming Malayalam film. The untitled movie, directed by debutant Thilakaraj, will go on floors on 18 August.

The actress will be seen as a martial arts expert and she is optimistic about the script of the film, according to reports.

The cinematography of the film will be handled by Vipin Mohan while Mohan Sithara is said to compose the music. However, the location for shooting and title of the film are yet to be decided.

Lissy, who was a prominent South Indian actress in the late 1980s and early 90s, left the film industry after her marriage with ace film-maker Priyadarshan. He directed Lissy in about 16 films, the first being "Odaruthammava Aalariyum" in 1984; their last film together was "Chithram" (1988).

The celeb couple made headlines when they filed for divorce on December 2014, 24 years after their marriage. Some unconfirmed reports had also claimed that Lissy demanded ₹80 crore from Priyadarshan for a settlement.
