Telugu actor Srihari passed away at Mumbai's Lilavati hospital on Wednesday (9 October).
The veteran actor, who was reportedly suffering from cancer, died while undergoing medical treatment. He was aged 49.
Confirming his death, Bollywood filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia, who directed Srihari in "Thoofan", tweeted, "Shree Hari sir, my Sher Khan from Thoofan passes away at 5pm in Lilawati hospital in Mumbai... RIP... Sad, torn..."
Srihari began his film career playing the antagonist. Later, he began playing the lead actor in several films. The versatile star was known for his roles in "Magadheera", "Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana", "Brindavanam" and Tamil film "Vettaikaran".
The actor is survived by his wife Shanthi (former actress) and two children.
His sudden death has left the Telugu film fraternity and fans in shock. Several celebrities took to Twitter to offer their condolences to the actor's family.
