Popular Tamil actor Santhanam's father C Neelamegan passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on Friday, June 10. He was 69.
PR Nikkil Murugan took to Twitter handle on Friday afternoon to reveal the news about the death of Santhanam's father. On his social media account, he posted, "Actor Santhanam father Neelamegam passed away few mins ago. Cremation details to follow soon. [sic]"
The actor's relative Nagaraj has confirmed the news to International Business Times, India and said that the family is deeply pained at the passing away of Neelamegan. He told: "He was suffering from age-related illness and was admitted to the hospital in Chennai a month ago. He breathed his last at around 4 pm today."
The last rites will be performed at Santhanam's hometown, Polichalur, in Kancheepuram district, on Saturday, June 11.
