Acer released a new Windows 8 running Iconia W3 tablet earlier this month at a press event in Computex event in Taipei. Now, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has released the device in the Indian market for a starting price of ₹30,499.

Acer claims the Iconia W3 as the industry's first 8.1-inch touchscreen tablet running on Windows 8 operating system with Intel inside. The tablet design is compact enough to fit in one's hand comfortably for reading and web browsing.

The new tablet is aimed at professionals, students and families who seek the ease of using a one-hand tablet along with access to applications such MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

The tablet sports an 8.1-inch LED-backlit display at 1280X800 pixels resolution, powered by Intel Atom Z2760 dual-core processor at 1.8GHz clock speed along with onboard Intel HD graphics and 2GB of LPDDR2 RAM.

The device features 2-megapixel cameras on the front and back, and comes in two internal storage options- 32GB and 64GB. Its storage can be expanded upto 32GB using a microSD card.

In terms of connectivity, the tablet has micro-HDMI, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, and gives a battery life of upto eight hours. It also comes with an optional Bluetooth keyboard that can be docked to the display for typing.
