They say it is very difficult for one not to be touched and absolutely amazed by Shah Rukh Khan's charm and aura. SRK is not only one of the biggest stars in India but is a global star in every sense of the term. He has millions of fans, who love him wholeheartedly and look up to him for his brilliant persona and for being as realistic as one can be. Most resonate with his struggle and applaud him for his success. Celebrities, too, never shy away from admitting how big a fan they are of Shah Rukh, and a similar thing happened to Abhay Verma recently, where he could not help but speak in admiration of the superstar he is working with for Siddharth Anand's King.
There is a common proverb that says, "never meet your heroes", but Munjya star Abhay already has, and he is far from being disappointed. In fact, in a conversation with ABP, the young actor mentioned how much he respects King Khan and also spoke about the first time he met the legendary actor.
Abhay said, "He is obviously the King. And honestly, I admire him not just as an actor, but as a teacher. He represents the best of our youth, someone we can look up to. I have always placed his work on a pedestal, and for me, he holds the stature of a god. I respect him deeply."
Going back in time, he mentioned what it was like meeting SRK for the first time. Abhay candidly mentioned how he would always think of the moment from a distance and never truly believed that one day it would happen. He admitted that when this dream did pan out in reality, it was far more emotional than he had thought it would be.
The actor said, "In the beginning, I had this jittery feeling thinking, 'I hope one day Shah Rukh sir knows that a guy named Abhay Varma exists.' At the very least, I wanted him to know my name or maybe just see me once. But when I actually met him, when he hugged me and asked how I was, and asked if I travelled comfortably, it felt like I had reached my personal retirement stage, I couldn't have asked for more from God."
He further went on to add, "When I would go back to my hotel, then it used to feel like as if I had met Shah Rukh Khan. But when I was sitting with him, talking to him, he never made you feel like he's Shah Rukh Khan. He made it feel like you were meeting a friend."

Abhay and SRK will be sharing screen for the very first time in Siddharth Anand's 'King', a film which is all set to have a 2026 Christmas release. The film will also star another one of Abhay's favourite stars, Deepika Padukone. As per speculation, the cast of the film will include Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal, Jackie Shroff and Rani Mukerji.
