A 4-year-old girl, who is fighting Pre-B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia has become the latest internet sensation after she got "married" to her favourite nurse on Thursday in New York.

The rare wedding function of Abby and her dear nurse Matt Hickling took place at Melodies Center for Childhood Cancers in Albany Medical Center Hospital, where the little girl is undergoing treatment.

Abby was welcomed to the aisle with rose petals and her nurses Angie and Courtney accompanied her as bridesmaids. The hospital staff and many others also witnessed the wedding, which was officiated by Dr Jennifer Pearce.

The little bride looked adorable in a beautiful white dress, veil and bouquet prepared by Enchanted Gardens.

"Our patient shyly asked me to marry her. I didn't hesitate to say yes, I got a HUGE hug and we sealed the deal with ring pops being placed on our fingers!" Hickling posted on his Facebook handle.

"This is the best day ever!", Abby stated after her dream wedding on Thursday.

The Facebook handle Amazing Abby, which has more than 4,000 followers, has shared the moments of the special event on social media.
