Reality shows are among the most loved finite-format shows by netizens. You may love them or hate them, but they remain a guilty pleasure for many. Bigg Boss fans were a bit disappointed after it was announced that Bigg Boss OTT will not air this year and has been axed. To fill the gap, the promo of an upcoming reality show, The 50, was released on Wednesday.
The promo offers a one-hour tour of the house and hints at the intriguing role of the Lion in the show. Following this, many speculated that Ajay Devgn might be hosting the show. However, several reports claim that Farah Khan is set to host it.

The spacious palace-like setup has drawn comparisons to the Bigg Boss house, say netizens. Much like Bigg Boss, the Lion will monitor every move of the contestants, while the show promises drama and "hungama" as its two key pillars.
At the centre of the house lies an arena where contestants will compete in various games to gain advantages. In the courtyard, the Lion will introduce and explain these "crazy games" to the participants. The house also features a den, a special room where contestants will get the opportunity for one-on-one interactions with the Lion, adding another strategic layer to the game.
The 50 Rules and Regulations
The new promo of The 50 declares, "Yahan ka bas ek hi rule hoga ki yahan koi rules nahi honge."
In an interview with SCREEN, the show's creator, Rishi Negi, opened up about the decision to do away with Bigg Boss OTT.
Confirming that Bigg Boss OTT has been "indefinitely scrapped", Rishi said, "With the Hindi version, we went digital-first last year. In effect, that becomes the property that first runs on JioHotstar and then comes on TV, and I think that's the cycle that will be followed. In all other languages, we run a simulcast, but I believe there is a very large market at both the OTT and TV levels. The audience is very diverse, and they love watching the show on TV. My mother only watches Bigg Boss on TV. There is a large audience that watches on appointment time, and both platforms bring us different sets of viewers."
The 50 release date and time
The 50 will premiere on Colors TV on February 1, 2026. The show will stream at 9 pm on JioHotstar and air at 10:30 pm on Colors TV.
The confirmed contestants include actors Karan Patel, Monalisa, Vikrant Singh Rajpoot, and Shiny Doshi, along with social media influencer Faisal Sheikh (Faisu) and reality star Divya Agarwal. Other participants include content creator Dushyant Kukreja, actor-model Rudra Rana, celebrity interviewer Ahmed Al Marzooki, and television veteran Urvashi Dholakia. Sources also suggest that Nikita Bhamidipati and Shrutika Arjun may join the lineup.
