A fresh batch of images of the new Hyundai Elite i20 has started doing the rounds on the internet, adding to the long list of spy shots of the new facelifted avatar of the premium hatchback from the South Korean carmaker before its actual arrival in India in 2018.

The new Hyundai Elite i20 has been undergoing testing in different parts of country for quite a while now. The latest set of spy images of the Elite i20 comes from the team at IndianAutosBlog. It shows a partly-camouflaged prototype of the new Elite i20 facelift. Although the latest images have nothing new to reveal, the repeated sightings of the model indicate its imminent arrival.

The new Elite i20 is expected to get a cascading grille and redesigned taillamps along with changes in the positioning of the number plates of the model and a new set of alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the new Elite i20 facelift is likely to get a dual-tone beige-and-black colour scheme with similar-hued upholstery. It is likely to get touchscreen infotainment system with voice commands, a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and a central armrest, among other features.

Under the hood, the 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, 1.2-litre and the 1.4-litre petrol engines are likely to be continued. In the current model, the diesel engine is tuned to generate 89hp of power and 220Nm of torque paired with six-speed manual transmission; the petrol mills get five-speed manual and four-speed automatic transmission.

There have also been reports of a new a 1.0-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine making it to the new Elite i20.

The new Elite i20 facelift is expected to be unveiled at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018 in February. The hatchback will be launched in India later next year.
