A fresh batch of pictures of updated Ertiga has been floating around the Internet ahead of the official unveiling scheduled at Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The people mover from India's largest car manufacturer was a runaway success when it was launched in 2012 with 11,000 units ordered in five days. Maruti Suzuki is planning to extend the lead in the segment with the updated MUV featuring a minor facelift.

The pictures published by autonetmagz.com indicate a splash of chrome embellishments on the exterior. An embossing three-slat chrome grill is the major change at front. The front bumper has been redesigned to accommodate the change and the fog lamps have got chrome housing. A horizontal chrome slat above the registration plate and a set of reflectors on the bumper are the changes at rear. The MUV also sports a newly-designed twin-spoke alloy wheels.

The interior pictures are not out yet. However, reports indicate that the facelift will feature engine start/stop button, new upholstery, electric folding mirrors, keyless entry and SmartPlay infotainment system.

The new Ertiga will carry over the same set of engines. The 1.4-litre K Series petrol engine producing 94bhp and 130Nm and the 1.3-litre Fiat sourced multi-jet diesel engine developing 89bhp and 200Nm of torque will be mated to 5-speed manual transmission.

The petrol version might get an Automated Manual Transmission box. Rumours also suggest that the manufacturer reworked the gear ratios resulting in improved fuel efficiency.

The 2015 Ertiga will go up against the Chevrolet Enjoy, Nissan Evalia, Honda Mobilio and all-time segment favourite Toyota Innova. The new Ertiga will be slightly premium over the current model and the India launch is expected during the festive season.
