The new 2014 Range Rover Sport with lightweight aluminum unibody architecture and carrying a price tag of ₹1.09 crore has been launched in India.

With a redesigned exterior, the 2014 Sport costs  ₹1.65 crore for the higher-end 5.0L V8 SC petrol variant and ₹1.09 crore for the 3.0L Diesel SDV6 S model.

The Sport ditches the LR3/LR4's steel ladder frame and flaunts all new bumpers, side profile, sloping roofline, slimmer lamps and spoiler-like extension. Land Rover had maintained that this cuts down about 800 pounds, as compared to the old 2006 Sport.

With regards to the interiors, the luxury car maintains the dynamic inside look and has tweaked suspensions, aluminium-based chassis and a terrain response system.

The 2014 Sport comes with both petrol and diesel engine options. The diesel engine is a 3.0-litre V6 that make 292PS with 600Nm of torque and the second one is a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 engine that builds 510PS and 625Nm torque. Both are mated to ZF's eight-speed automatic. For the petrol engine, the new SUV claims to reach 0-100kmph in 5.3 seconds.

The 2014 Sport has an active-roll-control system along with an optional rear electronic locking differential, which lets the driver experience a surprising directional agility. The all-wheel-drive system and an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF are standard features.

The automobile company launched massive global advertising and marketing strategies for this model.

"We developed a campaign that lives up to this remarkable car, with creative that communicates its unique attributes and media properties that connect with our core customer who is as capable and driven as the Range Rover Sport itself." Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover North America had told Reuters.
