Looks like Maruti is gearing up to launch it's much awaited Swift facelift in India soon, as new spy shots show a fleet of the new hot hatchbacks parked at the stockyard of the company's Manesar facility.

The latest set of pictures comes from Gaadiwaadi and in the spy shots, the new Swift facelift is seen undisguised, giving us an insight into the changes made to the car. The new Swift facelift, which is supposedly called Swift Sports will stick to the original design of the Swift hatchbacks and will carry over the same tried and tested 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines.

They also seem to have LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and Reverse parking Sensor. The further changes expected include fresh alloy wheels, electrically adjustable ORVMs, new front fascia with reworked grille, headlights and front bumper. There is no word yet on the transmission of the swift facelift, but rumours are that the engine will come from five-speed manual gearbox.

The Swift facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Tata Bolt in India once it is here. We do not know the release date of this model in India yet but latest sightings tell us that Maruti could be planning for a festive season launch. Swift is one of the best selling cars in India and thus we expect the new model also to get an attractive price tag.

In the international markets, Suzuki also has a performance oriented variant of Swift dubbed Swift Sport. Although the previous reports had suggested that this variant would not come to the Indian market, emerging reports indicate that the Swift Sport could also make its way to the domestic market. Globally, the Swift Sport is sold in three-door and five-door body style. If the vehicle comes to India, it might be the five-door version of Swift Sport.
