Mahindra is eagerly waiting to break the cover of its new 2014 Scorpio facelift on 25 September .And now,ahead of its official launch, the SUV has been spied in the country with absolutely no camouflage, giving us the first look of the Scorpio Facelift's finished design and muscular front.

The latest prototype  wwas caught on camera by the folks at Rushlane. The SUV, which looked significantly sharper than the current Scorpio model is seen fitted with the new front fascia. Although the design of the new SUV is not all that new, the changes received by the 2014 Scorpio facelift are quite visible and intriguing.

In the images, we can see the re-worked front grille with new smoked headlamps and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL).

At the back, the SUV adopts the same design language, but has given a light touch up to the rear door. The D-shaped taillights features blue and orange lights and the silver rim on the number plate area is simply good. The SUV facelift will also be offering new five spoke alloy wheels.

Inside the cabin, the vehicle is likely to accommodate automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles AC vents, steering-mounted controls for audio and cruise control. To be offered in six variants- S2, S4, S6, S6+, S8 and S10, the Scorpio facelift will get five body paints - Diamond White, Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Molten Red and Regal Blue.

Under the bonnet, the new hot SUV is expected to pack the same 2.2 litre four-cylinder turbo-charged mHawk diesel engine, which powers the current Scorpio model. The engine currently has the capacity to churn out 120bhp power and 290nm torque and rumours suggest that the transmission of the new Scorpio might come from upgraded five-speed manual gearbox.

The bookings for Scorpio facelift are already underway with an advance payment of ₹20,000 and this time the huge machine can be booked online through the e-retailer SnapDeal. The vehicle will make its debut on 25 September and we expect it to kick-start the delivery within one month.

Pricing details of the Scorpio facelift is yet to be revealed, but chances are that the vehicle will get a price tag in range of ₹8-₹13 lakh.

In India, the contenders of the upcoming Scorpio facelift are mainly Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
