Mahindra & Mahindra's 2014 Scorpio facelift has been caught on camera once again, this time giving us an insight into what the facelift of the iconic Scorpio has in store for us.

From the latest set of spy shots, the interiors of the upcoming facelift look pretty upmarket and the features like dual tone finish interior and a new multi-info display offers a rich look to the SUV.

The pictures posted by the Autocar India also reveal the automatic climate control, rectangular design central consoles AC vents, steering mounted controls for audio and cruise control. The power window switches of the SUV seem to have moved from the dashboard to the doors.

The top end variant of the SUV is also likely to boast features like 7-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and rear-view camera.

The new avatar of Scorpio will also receive changes outside. Although the latest set of spy shots does not help us to understand in detail the changes outside, the word is that the new Scorpio will have a reworked front and rear with new headlights and tail lamps. The side profile of the upcoming Scorpio is likely to be the same like its current model.

The vehicle is expected to get same 2.2 liter four cylinder turbocharged mHawk diesel engine, which powers the current model. The engine is likely to offer a power of 120 bhp and a peak torque of 290 Nm. Previous reports have indicated that the Scorpio is also likely to get six-speed automatic transmission for improved performance.

Though the company has not revealed the launch date and the pricing details of the SUV, the repeated sighting of the vehicle on the Indian roads suggest that the launch will happen soon. When it is launched, the new Scorpio will be pegged against the Tata Safari Storme, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano in the country.

Apart from the Scorpio facelift, Mahindra is also gearing up for the launch of a compact SUV codenamed S101. Based on a new monocoque platform, the upcoming Mahindra SUV is expected to reach the auto market in late 2015. It would be a sub four-meter compact SUV and is likely to be powered by Mahindra's newly developed 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine and 1.5-liter three-cylinder mCR100 unit, which does the duty in the Quanto.
