As 2014 is nearing its end, it is the time to recall the moments in the fashion world that made India proud this year.

From Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's comeback at Cannes to Karan Johar as designer, there are many moments that will make 2014 memorable.

Here are some of the major fashion moments in 2014:

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Comeback at Cannes Film Festival

Former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan made a comeback at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. Due to her post-pregnancy weight, the actress was criticised on her appearance at the event earlier, but this year the diva returned with her old charm. She walked the red carpet in her perfect body and a beautiful outfit.

Rahul Mishra – First Indian to Win International Woolmark Prize

Indian fashion designer Rahul Mishra made the country proud by winning International Woolmark Prize at Milan Fashion Week this year. Last year, he got through Indian leg of the International Woolmark Prize and then decided to represent the country at 2014 Woolmark Prize. Mishra is the first Indian to receive the award.

Director-Turned-Designer Karan Johar

Karan Johar, who is known for directing films like "Kuch Kuch Hota Hain", "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "My Name Is Khan", had decided to prove his talent as a designer this year.

As a designer for Vero Moda, Johar created a glittering collection under the name, 'Marquee' . The showstopper for the beautiful season collection was Kangana Ranaut.

Designer Wendell Rodricks Conferred with Padma Shri

One of India's top 10 designers, Wendell Rodricks, was awarded Padma Shri by the Central Government this year. The Goa-based designer was the first Indian to be invited to the world's largest garment fair, Igedo Fashion Fairs.

Masaba Gupta – Youngest Successful Designer

After her two years of work commitment with Satya Paul came to an end, Masaba Gupta proved that age doesn't matter if one has talent. The young designer proved successful after she was declared the creative director of Anouk, the Indian brand of Myntra.com.
