Mega movie 2.0 Hindi witnessed considerable growth in its box office collection on Sunday, ending the first weekend on a good note.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth, Hindi version of 2.0 has had a decent start at the Indian box office with an earning of Rs 20.25 crore on the opening day, which was a regular working day (Thursday).

Surprisingly, the film's collection had suffered a dip on the second day as it had collected Rs 18 crore at the domestic market. However, business of 2.0 bounced back over the weekend, ending day 4 with the highest number.

The sci-fi thriller had witnessed a growth of over 26 percent at the domestic box office on Saturday, raking in Rs 25 crore. As expected, the movie reportedly enjoyed excellent occupancy of around 70 percent on Sunday.

Both 2D and 3D versions of the film (Hindi) witnessed major footfalls on its day 4. Shankar directorial 2.0 collected Rs 34 crore on Sunday, taking its total domestic collection close to Rs 100 crore mark.

"#2Point0 puts up a SUPERB TOTAL in its *extended* opening weekend... Biz on Day 3 and Day 4 specifically was fantastic... Thu 19.50 cr, Fri 17.50 cr, Sat 24 cr, Sun 34 cr. Total: ₹ 95 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version," Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The numbers are undoubtedly excellent, but it still has to go a long way to become a hit due to the massive budget of over Rs 500 crore. It was expected that the film would break several box office records, but it failed to make any major achievement as far as the collection is concerned.

Although it has been performing excellently in certain regions down South, 2.0 failed to make the expected impact across the country. The movie needs to hold the momentum over the weekdays in order to reach a decent total.
