Update: "Vishwaroopam 2" Confirmed for February 2014 Release

Looks like 7 November will be a special day for Ajith and Kamal Haasan fans.

"Universal Star" Kamal Haasan will be celebrating his birthday tomorrow. According to reports, the actor might release the first look teaser of his upcoming magnum-opus "Vishwaroopam 2" as a special birthday treat to his fans. However, there is still no official confirmation in this regard.

Latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood industry is that the teaser of Ajith's upcoming film "Veeram" will also be releasing on the same day as "Vishwaroopam 2" teaser. Directed by "Siruthai" Siva, "Veeram" will reportedly have Ajith in a rural avatar.

According to reports, 80 percent of the film's shooting is complete and the team will commence shooting a song sequence in Chennai from 7 November. The makers of "Veeram" are gearing up to release the film in January 2014.

Produced by Vijaya Productions, "Veeram" has Tamannah playing the female lead for the first time in an Ajith film. The other cast members include Santhanam, Vidharth, Pradeep Rawat, Ramesh Khanna, Suhail Chandhok and Vidyullekha Raman in supporting roles.

"Veeram" is heading for a big clash with Vijay's "Jilla", which is also likely to release around the same time in January. Buzz is that Kamal's "Vishwaroopam 2", which was expected to release for Diwali this year, has now been pushed further to January next year. If the reports turn out to be true, then the first month of 2014 will witness big clashes among these films.

Written and directed by Kamal Haasan, "Vishwaroopam 2" has retained most of the cast from the first part. While "Vishwaroopam" was set in foreign locations including United States and Canada, the sequel is mostly shot in India.  There are a lot of expectations on the film as the first part was a massive hit. Kamal himself has revealed that the amount of efforts put on "Vishwaroopam 2" is far more than the first part. It remains to be seen if the spy-thriller will be able to perform equally to "Vishwaroopam."
