Actor Nithin's new film "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" has been doing exceptionally well at the US box office, beating other Telugu releases "Udhayam NH4" and "Chinna Cinema".

The movie has collected a total of ₹80.03 lakh on 23 screens in the opening weekend at the US box office collection. "Telugu film #GundeJaariGallanthayyinde has grossed an impressive total in USA. Collects $ 147,697 [₹80.03 lacs] on 23 screens," film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde", a romantic entertainer, has been well received by moviegoers. The chemistry between the lead pair - Nithin and Nithya Menen has once again clicked well in this movie, following the super success of their last movie "Ishq".

Directed by debutant Vijay Kumar Konda, "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" is a fun-filled flick that has a high dose of comedy and an interesting screenplay. The movie's stupendous success has brought a sense of relief for Nithin, who has had the highest number of consecutive flops before "Ishq" was released.

With "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" faring well in theatres, the actor is back on track in the Telugu film industry. And he has to thank another popular actor Allu Arjun for this. According to latest buzz, director Vijay Kumar Konda first approached Allu Arjun to play the male lead in "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde". But the actor reportedly didn't like the story and rejected the offer, which later went to Nithin.

If Allu Arjun had agreed to do the film, Nithin wouldn't have received the offer and tasted the film's success. "Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde" story is about Karthik (Nithin) who falls in love with a girl named Sruthi (Isha Talwar) at first sight in a friend's wedding. He gets Sruthi's phone number and woos her, but later discovers that he has called the wrong girl - Shravya (Nithya). This leads to some twists and surprises.

Besides the lead pair, the rest of the star cast includes Isha Talwar, Madhunandan, Aali, Thagubotu Ramesh, Sandhya Janak and M S Narayana in supporting roles.
