"Big Boss-5" has stirred controversy as one of the participants in the reality TV show asked questions regarding the personal life of its Nepali participant, Nihita Biswas Sobhraj.

Nihita is the first "Big Boss" contestant from Nepal, and her participation drew interest since she is the wife of serial killer Charles Gurmukh Sobhraj, better known as the "Bikini Killer," and "Serpent Killer." Nihita fell in love with him when she visited him as an interpreter for his visiting French lawyer.

"Did you have sex with Sobaraj?" asked one of the contestants, Mandeep Belvi. Nihita tried to ward off the question, but her curious fellow inmate would not give up and asked, "Why did you marry him?"

The question provoked Nihita's relatives and others in Nepal.

"I was shocked," said her mother, Shakuntala Thapa, who is lawyer. "We have a conservative society in Nepal. We didn't expect such sensationalism or ignorance."

"Sobhraj is in prison whereas Nihita is not. How could the question of having sex with a prisoner arise?" she asked.

Nihita married Sobhraj on Oct. 9, 2008, on the jail premises in a grand manner. Sobaraj is believed to be a psychopath who killed foreign tourists in the 1970s throughout Southeast Asia.
