Yamaha has finally pulled wraps off its much anticipated YZF-R25 in Indonesia with a price tag of 53 Million Rupiah (roughly ₹2.70 lakh).
Powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine which can churn out a power of 36 Bhp, 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm, the newest in the Yamaha R-series line up takes its design cues from Yamaha R6S and the 'YZR - M1.'
The engine comes come mated to 6 speed manual transmission and the bike carries light-weight chassis.
Yamaha R25, a concept first unveiled at the 2013 Tokyo Motor show is built on Tubular Diamond chassis and gets Telescopic suspension at the front and monocross suspension at the rear. It measures 2090 mm in length, 720 mm in width, 1135 mm in height and has a seat height of 780mm. Seated on a wheelbase of 1380mm, the R25 weighs 166kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 14.3 liters. In Indonesian market, the bike will be available in three colours- Racing Blue, Diablo Red and Predator Black and the bookings for the bike will be opened in the country soon.
The bike lovers in India are also expecting the launch of R25 in the country. Although nothing concrete has been said about it by the company, rumours are rife that India bound version of R25 is likely to come powered by single cylinder 250cc motor, which would make the bike affordable for the Indian two-wheeler aficionados. When launched, the Yamaha R25 may take on the likes of Hyosung GT250R Kawasaki Ninja 250 Mono and Honda CBR250R in India.
