So much has been spoken about the Xiaomi Mi 5, from its release date to features to price, over the last few months. But there is little clarity on these aspects , because the Chinese phone maker has remained tight-lipped.

It was earlier reported that the Xiaomi Mi 5 might see the light of the day in July and launched in August, by the time its predecessor Mi 4 completes a year, but that hasn't happened.

Now, reports suggest it will be launched in August, though it has not been confirmed yet. It has also been reported that Xiaomi is planning to come up with big screen version called Mi 5 Plus.

The upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to have several feature upgrades over its predecessor, the Mi 4. It is expected to have a new design with a metal body and follow the footsteps of current high-smartphones by featuring fingerprint scanner.

According to reports that have surfaced so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to sport a 5.2-inch QHD touchscreen with 2,560 x1,440 pixel and protected by Gorilla Glass 4, powered by either Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor and run on Android Lollipop operating system.

It has also been reported the upcoming Xiaomi device will come packed with 32/64 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM, a 16 MP main camera, a 13 MP front snapper and over 3000mAh battery. The device is also expected to be priced at ¥2,399 (around $386/€350/Rs 24,575).
