Karan Johar is clearly on crossroads, having to pick either Alia Bhatt or the credible Anushka Sharma for his next.

The filmmaker is reportedly considering two names, either the "Highway" actress or Anushka for a role opposite Sidharth Malhotra in a Tarun Mansukhani film.

"Karan is really impressed with Alia's acting potential ever since he launched her in "Student Of The Year". On the other hand, he is also keen to work with Anushka. Both fit the bill perfectly," the Times of India quoted a source close to Mansukhani.

To be directed by the "Dostana" maker, the film will be a remake of French film "Priceless" (Hors de prix) 2006.

While Karan has a clear favourite in Alia, who will next be seen in "2 States," as well as in Dharma Productions' next film "Humpty Sharma ki Dulhani," Anushka is all set for 2014's most anticipated releases "PK" and "Bombay Velvet." The 25-year-old has also signed Zoya Akhtar's multi starrer "Dil Dhadakne Do."

Karan Johar has off late been seen trying to experiment with new avenues, right from backing different projects to casting new stars. And at such a juncture, the director might as well favour Anushka, with whom he has not made any films yet. The director, however, will also be seen sharing screen space with the actress in "Bombay Velvet."

Meanwhile, both the actress are said to be aware of the filmaker's dilemma, "Alia and Anushka are aware that Karan has them in mind. Both the girls are enthusiastic about the role and have their fingers crossed," the source added.
