OnePlus is one of the popular smartphone brands in the premium range, and the company's flagship this year is being closely watched by fans, critics and rivals. Samsung has clearly taken the flagship market by storm with its beautifully-crafted Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+, and there's a lot of pressure on other OEMs to meet its match.

OnePlus 5 is one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, which is likely to give a hard time for premium phone makers such as Apple, Samsung and LG with its high-specs and affordable price. There's been a lot of chatter about the phone's specs, but nothing confirmed by the company itself.

The latest rumour adding to the pile is a set of random photo samples shot from OnePlus 5. TrueTech shared these images, which were obtained from a source. While there's nothing to link the photos directly to OnePlus 5, digging into the EXIF data revealed that the photos were indeed shot using ONEPLUS A5000, which is the model number used for OnePlus 5 as seen on China Radio Regulation Authority's website

Only four photo samples were shared by the source and they haven't been compared with other flagships, making it hard to tell how good the camera really is. But two of the four shots of plant leaves suggest that the OnePlus 5 camera has a great depth of field effect. The details are crisp and sharp with balanced lighting and colours.

According to TrueTech's expert advice, these photos seem to be shot using a dual camera, most probably made of 16 megapixel lenses. From what we've seen, Galaxy S8+ seems to have a much greater detail and true-to-life images.

It is also safe to assume that the device used to shoot these images could be in early testing stage. The report also deciphered the longitude and latitude of where the image was shot, and it pins to Shenzen, China, which is where the company's headquarters are also located.

While there is a strong indication that OnePlus 5 will boast a dual camera lens, it remains to be seen whether the company will use the secondary lens for wide-angle or to create DSLR-like Bokeh effect. But it also contradicts to the earlier rumour that OnePlus 5 will sport a 23MP single rear camera.

In any case, dual camera makes more sense as OnePlus hasn't shied away from packing the latest tech in its flagships. Other specs for the handset include a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 8GB RAM, 4,000mAh battery, and 16MP front snapper.

OnePlus 5 is pegged for Q2 launch, and all the rumours will be settled once the official word is out. So, stay tuned.
