Serena Williams will take on Annika Beck in the third round of Wimbledon 2016 on Sunday. The six-time Wimbledon champion, Serena, has not been at her best in this edition so far and will be looking forward to put up a good show against Beck.

Williams was scratchy during her first round encounter against Amra Sadikovic. However, she had won that game 6-2, 6-4.

Later, in the second round, hardly she knew that she was awaiting a tough challenge ahead of her and survived an early scare in Wimbledon 2016, when she took on Christina McHale. Williams somehow held her nerve and prevailed in the last two sets 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-4.

The world no. 1 has not been at her best throughout the year as well. She has just managed to win one title in six attempts in 2016 and that came at the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome. Perhaps the desire of clinching her 22nd Grand Slam title is taking a toll on her game. If she achieves this feat, she will be equalling Steffi Graf's Open Era record.

However, the American tennis star was furious with herself as she did not play up to her standards and promised to come back stronger against Beck on Sunday.

If Serena manages to go past Beck on Sunday, then she will be up against Sloane Stephens or Svetlana Kuznetsova on Monday in the fourth round of Wimbledon 2016.

But it might not be that easy as one may think for Serena. Beck has managed to beat Heather Watson 2-6, 6-0, 12-10 in the first round and Aliaksandra Sasnovich in the second round (6-2, 6-1).

Still, going by the statistics, Serena will have the definite advantage over the world no. 43, as Beck has only managed to beat one top player in 12 attempts.
