The inaugural edition of the Pro Wrestling League may not have had the best of starts, but the tournament, featuring the best amateur wrestlers from all over the world, is slowly catching up with the audience in India.

We are done with seven matches so far in the season, and there are eight more matches to go in the league phase, before the semifinals and the final. Thursday's match sees Mumbai Garuda go head-to-head with the Rohit Sharma-co-owned UP Warriors.

The franchisee from UP notched their first win in the tournament on Tuesday, as they edged past Dilli Veer with a 4-3 result. World Championships silver medallist Purevjavyn Unurbat (men's 74kg) and Satyavart Kadian (men's 97kg) were the key wrestlers for the Warriors on the day.

They will be looking to build on the win by getting another good result against Mumbai Garuda today at the Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon.

However, Team Mumbai are not an easy opponent.

Garuda convincingly beat Bengaluru Yodhas 5-2 on Monday, and the performances of Odunayo Adekuoroye (women's 53kg) have been terrific so far. Indian star wrestler Ritu Phogat has also caught the attention with her performances.

Adeline Gray, the 'icon' player of Garuda, remains one more star attraction in the women's 69 kg category. "It's a great win for the team," the American Gray said after her team's previous victory. "Our team is very strong and we look forward to some more action."

Mumbai Garuda vs UP Warriors is scheduled for a 7 pm IST start.
