Telugu Titans couldn't have a more thrilling start to their home leg matches in the Pro Kabaddi League 2015. Although they didn't register another win over defending champions Jaipur Pink Panthers yesterday, the match was thoroughly enjoyed by the fans.
It was the second draw game of the Pro Kabaddi this season, as the Titans fought hard to restrict the away side from winning. The match finished 39-39.
Sonu Narwal of the Pink Panthers was undoubtedly the star of the match as he picked up a whopping 13 points and was also adjudged the Best Raider. For the Titans, Rahul Chaudhary and Sukesh Hegde remained the star raiders.
Chaudhary was instrumental once again for the Titans in the game yesterday, as he singlehandedly snatched the draw in the final moments of the game from the jaws of a defeat.
The Iranian duo of Meraj Sheykh and Hadi Oshtorak also played their part in the defence for the Titans, and the team successfully managed to notch three points.
With a total of 29 points currently and still hogging the limelight in the second spot of the Pro Kabaddi League 2015 table, the Hyderabadi side now welcome a not-so-confident Bengal Warriors at the Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, Hyderabad, today.
The Warriors have been languishing at the second-last position and they have just not been able to make an impact this year. With five losses and just a win and a draw, the Kolkata side could not even make use of home advantage.
Although they won the first game in Kolkata this year against the Pink Panthers narrowly, lady luck hasn't smiled on them in the remaining games.
South Korean Jang Kun Lee remained the only key player for the Kolkata side this year. Vineet Sharma and Sachin Khambe were also initially impressive with their performance this year, but their displays fizzled out soon.
The injuries to defender Nilesh Shinde and skipper Dinesh Kumar earlier in the campaign this year seemed to have taken out all the sheen from them. And although they will look to try and make a comeback today, it will be a near-impossible task to defeat Telugu Titans at home.
The match gets underway at 8 pm IST (3:30pm BST).
