In an interview with The Verge, Damon Lindelof, the series' creator, teased fans that the reason on why Miracle does not have any departure will still remain a mystery.

"Not only does season 2 maintain the dark tone and emotional resonance of its predecessor, but its new mystery infuses the narrative with a galvanising sense of urgency," Lindelof said.

Even though season 1 revealed a lot of secrets regarding the disappearance, the big mystery was never explained in it. According to Landelof, it seems things will be no different in the new season and fans will just have to wait for the mystery to slowly unfold.
